Understand how interest is calculated

Interest is calculated daily on your ending balance and paid monthly. The annual percentage yield (APY) shown on the Rates page reflects compounding for a full year.

  • Rates can change, and the current rate is always on the Rates page
  • Interest posts on the last day of the statement cycle
  • You will receive a Form 1099-INT if interest exceeds $10 in a year

Choosing between the three accounts

The right account depends on how you plan to use the money.

  • Standard Savings: a simple account for the cushion you want close at hand
  • High-Yield Savings: our highest variable rate, with no minimum balance to earn it
  • Goal Savings: named goals, progress bars and automatic contributions

Goals in online banking

A goal is a named target inside your savings account. Contributions are tracked against it, so you can see how close you are to a vacation, a repair fund or a down payment.

  • Set a target amount and date
  • See progress on your dashboard
  • Change or pause contributions at any time

How do savings goals work?

Do rates ever change?
Yes. Variable rates can change at any time, and the Rates page always shows the current figure.
How is interest paid?
Interest is calculated daily on your ending balance and paid monthly, on the last day of the statement cycle.
